I was told to leave the pistol open with the new spring at tension for a day or so - which I did.įast forward a few weeks to this afternoon when I was finally able to hit the range and try things out. So I went on line and bought a Wolff standard 17lb spring.įirst thing I noticed was that the new spring was a lot longer than the existing (about an inch longer), so I consulted my Stephen camp book and his website as well as poking around the forums and found that a new spring can in fact be longer until it settles in and loosens up slightly. ![]() I also measured the old spring and while not below the minimum length recommended, i figured it couldn’t hurt. Wanted to ask the collective what their experiences are with new recoil springs causing ejected shells to jam in the slide opening.Īfter picking up a “new” ‘68 T series I figured it was a good idea to replace the recoil spring since I have no idea how many rounds have been put thru the existing setup.
